How to Make $2,000/hour
What if you could earn $2,000 an hour just by sitting at your kitchen table?
Most people think you need a fancy degree to make that kind of money. They are wrong. You can pay yourself that rate today by mastering one simple skill.
Most people fail with money because they rely on willpower. Willpower is weak. Systems are strong. In my book One Minute Money, I call this system the Money Rhythm. It is a simple flow that puts you in total control.
Here is the exact three step breakdown.
1. The Daily Check (2 Minutes)
Every single day you spend two minutes looking at your budget. All you are doing is looking at new transactions. You make sure each one is in the right category. That’s it. Doing this daily means you never have a huge pile of work at the end of the week. It keeps you aware of what is happening in real time. Do it while you brush your teeth.
2. The Weekly Check-In (5 to 10 Minutes)
Once a week you sit down for a quick review. If you are married you do this with your spouse. You look at your categories to see if you are on track. If you spent too much on groceries you move some money from the entertainment category to cover it. You adjust the budget so it stays at zero. That’s why it’s called zero-based budgeting. This ensures you are always living on less than you make. Put it on the calendar to go over it weekly, set a recurring calendar appointment with yourself or your spouse and don’t miss it.
3. The Last Day of Month (15 to 20 Minutes)
On the last day of the month you spend a few minutes looking ahead. I call this LDOM. Because you have been checking in daily and weekly there is very little to clean up. Then, you simply plan for the next month. You look at upcoming bills or events (birthdays, oil changes, insurance payments) and tell your money where to go before the month even starts.
The Math: How You Get Paid $2,000 an Hour
Let's look at how much time this actually takes.
Daily: 2 min x 30 days = 60 minutes
Weekly: 10 min x 4 weeks = 40 minutes
LDOM: 20 minutes
Total: 120 minutes (2 hours) per month
I have seen so many clients who are losing $500 every single month to "frivolous" spending. They aren't bad people. They are just unaware. By simply following this rhythm they easily get that $500 back just by being more aware.
If you take that $500 and invest it for 30 years it can grow into $1,000,000.
Divide that million dollars by the hours you spent budgeting it works out to about $2,000 for every hour of work. Most people will never have a job that pays them $2,000 an hour. But you can pay yourself that rate just by keeping a pulse on your money.
Why This Matters
Awareness is the most critical part of winning with money. Small leaks in your budget go unnoticed for years. Those leaks turn into financial storms that wreck your future. This system is the umbrella that keeps you dry.
It is not about being perfect. It is about being aware. When you know where every dollar is going you stop feeling stressed and start feeling at peace.

The best time to start was years ago. The next best time is today.
